Another burned up Automatic
The Black JK with all the guys in it, young guy named Andrew from Toronto?
Ya here is his JK:
And the following explanation:
Ok since everyone is asking, I'll give a quick explaination.
Cruised around 4 about an hour with 4x4, parked the jeep at a green P parking came back about 50 min later and there were fire trucks all around my Jeep, Cops had it blocked off, so I told him it was my truck. Fire Chief came over and told me it had an electrical problem and with the hot tranny or something it was set off and POOF! fire and this is what is left. Apparently this isn't the 1st time this has happened with an automatic 4 door Wrangler.
Dont think we will be seeing him at JK Jam.

the grand cherokees had the same issue of the auto trany heating up too high
simple fixe is a tranny cooler on it or don't drive her so hard ... as the driver stated he was cruising around in 4 wheel drive but a large trany cooler would be the first thing I would install if I had an auto

Some were saying that they get a lot of dried crap on top of the tranny skid. Our 6 spds dont have the skid. (I have one though, and recommend getting one for those who have a 6 spd, it bolts right on and protects your exhaust cross member)
And for those with auto I would say keep an eye out for crap on top of your tranny skid.
