YouTuber Programs Iron Man-like ‘JARVIS’ AI, Uses to Start Jeep
Two young programmers flex their coding muscles to create a version of Iron Man (Tony Stark)’s artificial intelligence that’s wicked cool!
When people pour themselves into a daunting project, wonderful things sometimes happen as a by-product. The world as we know it serves as a powerful example. As a species, we’re able to manipulate what’s around us to make our lives easier, our week easier, and sometimes more fun. John Forsyth, a fledgling YouTuber and Python programmer, felt a light bulb illuminate in his mind. After seeing Marvel’s Iron Man movies, Forsyth decided to bring fiction into reality by programming his very own (and very functional) JARVIS intelligent assistant with the help of his friend Jimmie Becker.
On Forsyth’s channel, he has only four videos displaying his homemade JARVIS program. All of them, funnily enough, include an ironic Marvel twist. In one video, he says to the camera that he taught JARVIS to use a raspberry pi (a small computer used in programming to perform basic functions) in order to play music. The song of choice was Black Sabbath‘s “Iron Man.” He also programmed his JARVIS to turn lights on and off. Most importantly, though, he taught it to start his project Jeep.
“JARVIS, let’s get things going,” Forsyth commands. A few seconds pass as Forsyth stares intently at his programming laden screen.
“Gotcha.” Responds JARVIS before his project Jeep CJ roars to life. The first test video featured Black Sabbath’s song in the background upon start up after JARVIS says “At your service,” while the second video was all about Forsyth’s wholesome reaction. Additionally, Forsyth made it known that when he used his JARVIS to start the Jeep, he was not using a raspberry pi computer. Thus, showing off his ability to program an intelligent assistant successfully.
From flexing his Python programming muscles to create a JARVIS program that stems from its iconic Marvel roots to fixing up a Jeep CJ, we hope to see more of Forsyth’s many talents. We’re keeping an eager eye out for his next incredible project. Keep on keepin’ on, Forsyth!
