Small Off-Roading Venture Lands Jeep on Local Police Wanted List

For anyone who owns a Jeep Wrangler, our guess is that there’s probably been a time when you’ve at least been tempted to venture off-road.

Sure, a lot of the more diehard Jeep owners spend considerable time on some of the less-traveled terrains, far away from civilization. But the truth of the matter is that most Jeep owners never take their SUV off the beaten path. Although, we’d guess the temptation to go adventuring crosses their minds from time to time.

After all, the off-road capability of a Jeep is one of its biggest appeals. So this Fox 43 report of a Wrangler caught off-roading through someone’s yard in Pennsylvania may have a simple explanation. Perhaps it’s just the uncontrollable urge one gets to truly experience a Jeep.

The issue, however, is that it’s illegal to go off-roading in somebody’s yard. And that quick little urge could end up costing you a pretty hefty penalty. Take, for example, the case of this Pennsylvania incident, which has prompted the Cornwall Borough Police Department to issue a wanted notice for the Jeep and its driver.

The local authorities have provided a few details on the Jeep to help track it down. According to Fox, the Jeep is “a late model Jeep Wrangler, gray or silver, with lift suspension, oversize tires, fender flares and brush guards.”

Now keep in mind, we certainly don’t want to discourage any Jeep owners who get a sudden urge to venture off road. Just make sure that if you do, it’s at a place that won’t wind up getting you a wanted list.
