Wrangler Turned Limo Appears On Craigslist & We Have Questions
What do you get when you mix a Wrangler, Gladiator, 6×6 conversion, and a limo? Perhaps the most absurd craigslist find of them all.
Right at the moment when you finally think you’ve seen it all, something undoubtedly comes out of left field to smack you in the face. Just as we thought no amount of 6×6 conversions, Hellcat swaps, or anything else could surprise us, Craigslist comes from behind with a supreme victory. We don’t have any idea of who built this monstrosity, but we do have an idea of how it came to be. Someone, somewhere, decided that they should turn a Wrangler into a truck. In all fairness, Jeep themselves agreed on that one, so we can’t call it too crazy. So, what did they do? Stepped it up a bit more with a third axle. Again, this has been done a handful of times. However, it’s really the addition of it being an endlessly long matte green limo that gets us.
This beautiful and/or questionable beast is currently listed for sale in Los Angeles on Craigslist. Unfortunately, the listing has surprisingly few details on what the hell is going on, too. The listing gives no details about the build whatsoever and only says to reach out to take a look at it and that they only want serious buyers.
Let’s be honest here; serious buyers aren’t going to be easy to find for this one.
Epitome of Class (or Something Like That)
First off, it really is a Wrangler and not a Gladiator. Admittedly, though, you wouldn’t be faulted for thinking it’s a stretched Gladiator at first glance. It is, however, a 2012 model Wrangler, which puts it well ahead of the Gladiator’s production start.
That being said, from the pictures, it seems that the truck conversion was handled quite nicely. There are no obvious fabrication flubs or anything to that extent, and it honestly looks well constructed. The dual rear fender flares and the full-length running board really make the sale. Furthermore, the off-road tires and (apparent) lift kit keep the Jeep spirit involved. Though, you might want to be careful taking it off-road. There’s a pretty likely chance you’ll get high centered.
We’ll be honest; the interior is phenomenal and it isn’t something we saw coming. Wooden floors, brown leather couches, and stitched leather upholstery will have you thinking you’re inside a fancy cigar bar or ritzy mountain home. Perhaps the original owner had it commissioned so they could feel at home while the chauffer drove into town. There’s so much we’d love to know about this thing’s history, but we digress.
What we can tell you, though, is the price. It is surprisingly modest considering the amount of effort put into this thing. Presuming you’re a serious buyer, you could own this piece of Jeep wonder that is most certainly destined to go down in history for just $60,000.
Perhaps calling it historical is a bit ambitious. Maybe, then, it’s destined to fade into tranquil obscurity out in the woods. It is a Jeep, after all. It would feel right at home.
