Here’s a Doozy of a Plan for Stealing a Jeep
I’ll give this brazen guy one thing, he certainly pulled a move I’ve never heard of anyone trying before. Granted, it doesn’t negate the stupidity of what he did, but it certainly makes for an interesting read.
Looking to make a little extra money, a 20-year-old Wisconsin man decided to sell his neighbor’s Jeep to a salvage company while the guy was out of town. The neighbor returned home after a few days to find his 1998 Grand Cherokee, which had four flat tires, gone.
After a witness spotted a flatbed truck driving off with the missing Jeep, authorities learned that Justin L. Braze had in fact sold the Jeep to Fox Valley Auto Salvage for $300, telling the company he’d lost the key and title for the car.
Now, instead of cashing in on his neighbor’s Jeep, Mr. Braze will be paying $1,539 plus $11,054.50 in restitution after already spending 79 days in jail. And to think, he could have had himself a pretty nice Jeep for that price.
