Wagoneer, Sub-100 Miles, Has Been Towed Several Times
A 2024 Jeep Wagoneer is towed twice within one week, and it only has 81 miles on the odometer.
“This is the same Wagoneer we towed just the other day,” said Dustin, a tow truck driver in Freeport, Texas. Dustin is a Meyer Towing driver, with a YouTube channel (@Towtruck_Dustin) dedicated to his adventures. In a video he posted on October 14, he was called by a service advisor at a local dealership about an issue with a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. According to the advisor, who pulled into a parking lot after the SUV went into limp mode, it refused to shift.
“This is the second time in a couple of days, but… The check engine light came on and now it won’t shift gears,” the advisor told Dustin. Dustin scanned the Wagoneer and told the advisor the black Jeep looked familiar.
“I’m fairly positive I picked this one up from Oyster Creek,” said Dustin. The dealership employee nodded. “I thought it looked familiar.”
Dealership Employee Feared for His Life
“I’m so glad I pulled into this parking lot first,” said the advisor as he hopped into Dustin’s truck. Dustin agreed, telling him he’d have been stuck on the side of the road otherwise.
Judging by the badging and interior styling, the Wagoneer appears to be the Carbide version. That trim level has an MSRP of around $73,500 – making it a very expensive paperweight. In the video, Dustin revealed it only had 81 miles on the odometer, having traveled only 37 miles before it needed another tow. Something he and his viewers said would likely make the owner extremely displeased.
The dealership employee said he was on a test drive checking to make sure their fixes stuck, only to find out they didn’t.
Dustin’s Viewers Had Jokes
The video was only online for two days before it collected 13,000 views and over 154 comments. The one with the most likes poked fun at the Wagoneer’s luxurious aura. “That Jeep Wagoneer is a high-class vehicle, it has to be chauffeured every place it goes,” wrote the viewer.
Someone else joked to Dustin to start a rewards program. “You should have a loyalty card scheme for Jeep owners. Get your sixth tow free,” their comment read.
Another said the owner ought to keep Dustin’s number accessible. “I hope that fellow keeps Dustin’s number on speed dial, something tells me they’ll need it.”
