Jeep Ad

From classic print ads to the latest masterpieces on YouTube, Jeep knows how to bring in new fans, and keep the faithful together.

When was the first time you saw a Jeep? Was it in your parents’ driveway? The one the mail carrier drove up to the mailbox? Maybe while out and about on a camping trip? No matter how Jeep entered your life, you likely knew these were something special.

Jeep also knew what they had, and knew how to bring its gospel to the masses. Driving.ca recently looked through the brand’s ad history, picking out a few favorites which best exemplify the Jeep Life.

According to Driving.ca, Jeep never sticks with one ad agency. In the instance of Super Bowl LII in 2018, the brand employed three agencies to create three different ads. One of them, FBC Chicago, also delivered the “Borderless” print ad campaign in the same year. Each of the campaign’s three ads focused on the borders between the U.S. and Mexico, Afghanistan and Pakistan, and North and South Korea, presenting a world without borders and their baggage, all to be explored in your favorite Jeep.

Of course, Jeep’s been in the print game for a long time. Just have a look at this one from 1964, which likely brought in more families to join the big Jeep family. If you look closer, though, you might see the brand asking you to see their wares in action in the TV series adaptation of the 1952 film The Greatest Show on Earth. Circus clowns and Jeep CJs on TV? Speaking of the Earth, though, three months ago, Jeep unveiled “Pale Blue Dot” on YouTube, in honor of its first hybrid model, the Wrangler 4xe. Based upon the late Carl Sagan’s monologue about the last photo of Earth ever taken by Voyager 1 in 1990; also the last-ever sight the long-running probe ever viewed before ordered to power its cameras down. It’s amazing how so much has happened with Jeep upon this planet over the decades, all the while just being one planet among billions in our part of the galaxy alone.
