US Specialty Vehicles Resurrects Failed GM Concept Using a Wrangler
It’s as if my dreams have come true. A long while ago, before GM shuttered Hummer, the company brought out a concept vehicle called the HX. It was perhaps my favorite concept car to come out that year. It was rugged, had an awesome interior, and a shovel built into the door! It looked like a cross between a Hummer, a Wrangler, and a Warthog from the video game Halo.
However, as luck would have it, the concept never made production, and soon after that, GM closed Hummer for good, and my dreams of owning one went out the window.
Fast forward to today, and US Specialty Vehicles has seemingly answered my prayers by building a version of it called the Rhino XT. Using a Wrangler JK subframe, the company turned it into the off-road, buggy-style Hummer of my dreams. It’s almost identical to the original concept, but it will be more rugged since it’s built off a Wrangler platform.
US Specialty Vehicles will begin taking orders for the Rhino XT in November, and spots will be limited. Price will start at $60k and go up from there, depending on how you trick it out. If only I had an extra $60k right about now.
