Twin-Turbo Grand Cherokee SRT8 Kills 911 Turbo S
Okay, so I admit it: this really wasn’t much of a race to begin with, given the sheer horsepower comparison between the twin-turbo Grand Cherokee SRT8 and the 911 Turbo S, which comes in at 1,200 for the Jeep and 650 for the Porsche.
Even with the weight disparities between the Porsche and the Jeep — the Jeep being substantially heavier than the 911 — the power to power ratio is a lot for any vehicle to overcome.
However, I still find the one-minute clip entertaining, just watching the high-performance American SUV beat up on the German’s beloved sports car.
As AutoEvolution points out, I’m sure Porsche fans will argue that the 911 Turbo S is a much better all-around performance car than the Grand Cherokee SRT8. And in all honestly, that’s probably true. However, that still doesn’t take away from the fact that on the dragstrip, this Jeep is a force to be reckoned with, and it deserves stronger competition than a 911 Turbo S.
