Turbo Tech: Why Do Turbos Work So Well?

You’ve seen our tech articles on how turbos work, how they compare to supercharging, and even how to maintain them. But now it’s time to take more than just our word on it. As you can see in the video below, /DRIVE went to Banks Engineering to talk turbochargers. Who better to discuss the matter with than the guys who set records using some of the best turbo tech?

First, while at the NHRA Museum in Pomona, California, Gale Banks himself starts off by talking about natural aspiration. He then moves on to the Banks Power Tech Center at the museum, and discusses turbos themselves. Banks describes how turbos work with exhaust gasses, how to control boost, and much, much more.
