Throwback Thursday: American Expedition Vehicles Is Offering a ‘Classic’ Package with a Retro 70’s Vibe
The AEV Classic Package is available on both the JL Wrangler and JT Gladiator for that throwback look on a modern Jeep.
Despite what you might see in the movies, the ability to travel back in time remains pure fantasy. But that doesn’t mean we can’t pine for the days of old. The calendar may show 2022 but many folks are drawn to the way life existed in the 1970’s. The fashion, the music, the movies, and television shows from that decade remain popular to this day. And of course, so do the Jeeps. And while the look of a circa 1975 Jeep may be enticing, a lot of folks still want the technology of today. So why not combine both? American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) has recently announced that they will be offering a ‘Classic Package’ for your modern Jeep. It will be based on the JL Wrangler Rubicon and JT Gladiator Rubicon.
This week’s “Throwback Thursday” is all about this AEV Classic Package. It still comes with all the AEV goodies that are found on the JL370 and JT370 builds. But you will be rolling in a Jeep that looks like it came straight out of the 1970’s. These are available for only a limited time, and you remember what we said about time travel. So, if you like this package you will want to order sooner rather than later. The package is available in either black or white. No matter which color you go with you will be the hippest person at the disco.
JL370 and JT370
The Classic Package is based on the AEV JL370 or JT370 package. These packages include items such as 37-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires, and AEV 2.5-inch suspension lift, a 4.56 axle ratio upgrade, LED off-road lights and a whole lot more. The JL and JT equipment list is very similar except the JL has things like an AEV swing-out tire carrier and rear bumper. The price for a regular JL370 is $17,974 before options. The JT370 will set you back $15,024 before options. The Classic Package ups the price by $2,526 for both the JL370 and JT370. So, a JL370 Classic Package will total $20,500 and the JT370 Classic Package will be $17,550.
Classic Package
So, what do you get for your twenty-five hundred bucks? Well, you get some really cool retro graphics on the hood, side and the dash of your Jeep. You will also get a set of white painted Salta XR Wheels. That might not sound like much, but the graphics combined with the wheels totally transforms the look of the Jeep. Combined with the other JL/JT370 package upgrades these Jeeps have a perfect retro/cool/tough look to them. And if you are already spending this kind of money to upgrade your Jeep you may as well make it stand out a bit more, right?
Total Price
An AEV JL370 Classic or JT370 Classic will not be cheap. They will end up stickering for about $85,000 to $100,000 depending on options selected. That is ten to twenty grand more than a Wrangler 392. Is it worth it? That is between you and your bank. But we can say that if you are looking for a capable off-roader with retro style the AEV Classic Package is tough to beat.
