Three-row Wrangler Is the Ultimate Off-road Family Hauler

Three-Row Wrangler

When you want to go off-road but also need to haul the whole family around, you build your own three-row Wrangler.

While SUVs and crossovers of all sizes and shapes are all the rage these days, more and more people are seeking out three-row options to accommodate their entire family. And automakers are more than happy to oblige, stuffing third rows into anything they can, even if it leaves little space for actual people. That was also likely the reason behind building this three-row Wrangler, which belongs to Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, who owns the Off-Road History Museum in the UAE.

Al Nahyan started out with a regular old JL Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with a hard top and transformed it into a three-row family hauler, and it looks like it could have rolled off an FCA assembly line. The work here is pretty much flawless, without a doubt.

When you start to compare the side view of this three-row Wrangler with a stock Unlimited, however, you can easily spot some differences. They include, most notably, some much larger rear doors, a necessity for getting in and out of the very back seat.

Like most three-row vehicles, this thing is so stuffed full of seats that there isn’t a ton of cargo room left in the rear. But those that have to haul multiple family members around typically don’t worry about such things, and maybe just leave a kid or two behind for grocery store day.

Aside from the supreme craftsmanship on display with this three-row Wrangler, we’re also impressed with the thought that went into its construction. The second-row seats are now buckets/captain’s chairs, which makes getting in and out of the third row much easier. The only issue we can see is the fact that the factory roll bar seems to protrude a bit into the rear headroom, but that’s only a problem for tall adults, we’d imagine.

Otherwise, you have to give this elongated Wrangler a hat tip. For those that need a big family hauler but can’t imagine giving up their Jeeps, this seems like the perfect solution. And for now at least, it’s also a nice short-term solution until the Grand Wagoneer gets here.
