5 Things You Didn’t Know About Your Jeep
Some of my favorite threads when I read enthusiast forums are the ones about the little things that you might not have known about your vehicle. We obsess over every little detail in our rides, but sometimes we just come across some things that we simply didn’t know about. A recently started thread in the Stock JK Tech section is starting to get packed with such finds. Below are just some of the helpful little things you’ll find out about your Jeep Wrangler!
You may use your center console storage everyday, but have you ever looked on the underside of it? There you’ll find two pen holders. The holders are also big enough to store a tire pressure gauge, which is a must in any ride, and forum user Gallowbraid even says two small Maglites will fit. Thanks sccpdc for the tip!
Here’s one that’s really helpful. Did you know that you can install fuse M7 two different ways? The one way turns the rear 12-volt plug on and off with the ignition. If you mount it the other way, it keeps continuous power to that plug. That’s a great tip, crusaderJK!
Modern FCA products, including Jeeps, have a 3 blink turn signal operation that once only European cars did. When driving, press the stalk in the direction you want to turn, but instead of pressing it far enough for it to click to stay on, just give it a tap. The system will blink three times in the direction indicated. Thanks 14sport for the reminder!
Finally, there is the all important bottle opener. If you have a 2-door Jeep, you have 3 of them. If you have the 4-door, you have 5. They’re the silver latches attached to the body, and double as bottle openers. Thanks catahoula!
