That’s a No-Go on the Jeep Hellcat
Chrysler’s Hellcat twins have indeed swept the automotive world by storm for the last few months, what with their 707-hp supercharged V8s, who can really blame them? Nevertheless, in the course of those few months, rumors have circled Chrysler as to whether we would see that wonderful engine in anything else besides the Challenger and Charger. Now, according to Ram Trucks CEO, Bob Hegbloom, we know, and for the moment, sadly, it’s a “no”.
According to BoldRide, the Truck CEO has said there is no plan on Hellcating anything else at the moment due to other “big opportunities” for Chrysler products.
This bad news makes me as disappointed as Fletch in the airport scene.
That means, the TrackHawk rumor that’s been floating around might just be that: a rumor with no substance. Then again, reps and management usually like to keep a tight lid on future products, so the Cherokee still might get the Hellcat engine.
Right now, the only sporty SUV you can get from the U.S. is the Cherokee SRT8, but that SUV is usually beat by the Germans or the British. A Hellcat Cherokee would pretty much annihilate anything they could come up with.
I’d personally love to see the Hellcat engine in the Jeep, or even the Chrysler 300 I’ve been playing with for the last week. “Hellcating” the two would be wonderfully insane, just like how the other two are.
