The idea of an Oldsmobile Cutlass taking on a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 almost seems beyond the scope of any gamer’s imagination when it comes to cars.
Sunday evening, my colleagues in the Texas Auto Writers Association and I headquartered near the Texas Motor Speedway for our annual Texas Auto Roundup. The next day, we hit the local roads and highway in more than 50 vehicles to determine the winners of a variety of categories, including the Performance Utility of Texas.
I’ve been pretty quiet about the news that it looks as if Jeep has scrapped its plans to add a Hellcat Grand Cherokee SRT to its lineup. I certainly haven’t given up all hope just yet, though. Find out why after the jump.
The Grand Cherokee SRT’s latest impressive showing features the SUV pulling off a ¼ mile time of 9.6 seconds at a speed of 149 mph, making it the fastest Grand Cherokee SRT in Europe.
