Stolen Jeep Alert [UPDATE]
The idea of a stolen Jeep is bad enough, but the idea of someone absconding with an historical 1951 Korean War-era Jeep has to be really tough to swallow.
Even more disturbing is that the owner, Gary Heidal, who has owned the Jeep since 1975, is also a Vietnam War Veteran himself with more than 20 years served in the Air Force.
In addition to being a restoration project, the Jeep has also become an important part of family history for Gary and his wife Patricia. The Jeep was parked in the couple’s driveway in Spokane, Wash. with the steering wheel padlocked when it was stolen. I think we should do whatever we can to help the war veteran get it back home.

UPDATE: The Vietnam Vet’s Jeep has been found. After posting an ad on Craigslist for the stolen 1951 Willys M38, Steve Heidal received a call from someone saying they saw the Jeep, according to a Spokesman.com report. The latest info doesn’t mention who might have stolen the Jeep, but I’m just happy to know it’s back home.
