SRT8 Jeep Driver Dies After Sandwiching SUV Under Bridge
No matter how indestructible you might feel in a car while driving fast, it’s safe to say, you’re not. While the car will protect you from many possibilities, it’s the unforeseen issues that tend to make a bad day terrible. Unfortunately, this was the last terrible day for the driver of this SRT8 Grand Cherokee Jeep in Los Angeles, California.
According to highway patrol, the SRT8 was traveling north on the 5 Freeway when the performance SUV hit the embankment, launched into the air, and then somehow wedged itself between the lowest part of a bridge, essentially sandwiching the car between the concrete slabs. Highway patrol announced the driver dead on the scene.
While the police are still looking into the crash and assessing just how the driver managed to wedge the Jeep in such a location, they did state that to do this, the SUV had to be traveling at a fairly high rate of speed. This should just serve as a reminder to us all, don’t just inherently trust your abilities or your car’s ability to protect you. Be wary when speeding, because speed kills.
