How-To Spotlight: JK Welcome Home(Link)
The HomeLink System Can Be a Fantastic Option. But It Can Also Be Maddening to Program
The HomeLink garage door system is not factory built on the Jeep Wrangler. That doesn’t mean that it’s not an option for you to set up on your own, though.
One of the bigger challenges that you may face in this aftermarket upgrade is finding a suitable location for the system face. Obviously the picture above is showing a factory installation in something other than the JK. Inside your Jeep, you may want to find a location that appears factory. Or a place that is a bit more out of the sight line. It goes without saying that once you cut the location out, you are stuck with it. So it could be a good idea to chalk out the spot before cutting the guide hole.
This week’s How-To Spotlight assumes that you already have the HomeLink system installed in your JK. In this case, we’re looking at resetting the system. It’s a safe guess that most of us at some point have tried to set up this system on our own. Perhaps it didn’t go well. But the process to program HomeLink is not that difficult when you follow the steps in order, as laid out in this week’s article.
