SEMA 2022 Rubicon 2.0

Incredibly powerful 20th Anniversary Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 20 concept was on display at this year’s SEMA trade show

The Jeep Wrangler has been around for many years, but the Rubicon trim level named after the incredibly difficult Rubicon trail in South Lake Tahoe, CA has only been around for 20. Coming out in 2002, the Rubicon was a Jeep unlike any others because it came standard with updated parts. Dana 44 axles, front and rear locking differentials, bigger tires, rock rails, and a disconnecting sway bar. To celebrate one of Jeep’s most popular trim levels is the Rubicon 20 concept — combining everything that makes the Rubicon great in one vehicle.

For starters, Jeep decided to use the 6.4-liter 392 V8 hemi engine as the heart of the vehicle, making it the fastest Rubicon. The exterior and interior are both customized to stand out, with special decals featuring GPS coordinates to the Rubicon trail start, and “20” badges on the hood and fenders. It also sports a matte silver vinyl wrap, and an American flag graphic on the fender. Also fitted to the stellar concept vehicle are Mopar steel bumpers, a Warn winch, a 2-inch factory lift complemented by 17-inch Mopar bead lock wheels and beefy 37-inch tires.

To make this concept even more loud and proud, it comes with a dual-mode exhaust, ranging from loud to extra loud. Paired with such a punchy engine, being loud is definitely something this vehicle would be good at — on top of dominating the toughest trails right off of the lot.

The concept vehicle was originally unveiled at the Easter Jeep Safari earlier this year among other exciting concepts, but we’re excited to have seen it at SEMA. Like you, we’ve definitely got our fingers crossed that it makes it into production.
