Robbers Crash Jeep Cherokee Into Chanel Store
You know those old-school Jeep Cherokee XJs that are just crazy, crazy strong… well, unfortunately, such strength has been put to bad use by a group of crooks in Paris.
As you can see in the Pursuitist Luxe video below, a group of highly organized burglars rammed a 4×4 (which we can deduct is a late ’90s Jeep Cherokee XJ) vehicle into the storefront of the luxury goods store, Chanel, and proceeded to rob the store. It’s not quite clear if this happened during business hours or not, but the damage to the pull-down fence may indicate this happened while the store was closed.
The Police reported that once the two-ton Jeep crashed into the storefront, it caught on fire. We’re not quite sure why, as a simple ramming down of a fence shouldn’t make the Cherokee ignite, but this could’ve been done on purpose to try and dispose of any evidence.
In the end, the burglars were able to escape and made out with dozens of Chanel handbags and other goods. Although there’s no official total on the stolen goods, this particular location close to the Champs-Élysées is known for carrying some of the finest inventory in Paris, including handbags costing in excess of $19,000 each.
Sad to see a Jeep lose its life in such a bad way.
