Principal Comes Under Fire for Protecting Jeep From Hail
I imagine it’d be hard to find a lot of support here on JK Forum for those bashing a school principal in Georgia for a recent measure she took to protect her Jeep Wrangler. Then again, I might be wrong.
When Georgia’s Cherokee County was hit with a hail storm, the principal decided to pull her Jeep under one of the school’s awnings to protect her Wrangler, which evidently created quite an uproar on social media. Most folks complained that the principal was putting the safety of her Jeep over the safety of the school children.
At issue was the fact that Karen Carl’s Jeep was blocking one of the school’s exits, according to WSBTV news report.
“I think it’s unfortunate when someone puts a material possession above the safety of our children and that kind of appears to be what happened,” parent Jenny Gilreath told the local news source.
Others felt the principal’s move to park her Jeep under the awning is really a non-issue.
“Today you’re actually here about an episode that has been blown out of proportion and does not truly represent what our principal is or who she is,” said Free Home Elementary School parent Ken Lightsey.
Cherokee County school officials said they haven’t decided whether they will take any disciplinary action against the principal.
So, JK Forum – what’s the verdict?
Yes – Reprimand the principal for parking her Jeep under the awning.
No – Let the principal slide for protecting her Jeep from hail. She does work in Cherokee County, after all.
