Pricing for Vintage Grand Wagoneers on the Rise
If you’ve been considering the idea of buying a vintage Grand Wagoneer, you’ll want to act fast.
It appears that the classic Jeeps are becoming even more popular than they’ve been in the past. And with the introduction of an all new Grand Wagoneer in 2018, the retail pricing for older models of the SUV are expected to surge even more, as highlighted by a Bloomberg report.
The business news source reports that pricing for vintage Grand Wagoneers has soared more than 35 percent over the past fast years, quickly approaching the $20,000 mark. The classic car insurance company, Haggerty, reports that it has seen a surge of 164 percent in the number of older models of the Jeep insured since 2010.
Touted as the world’s first luxury SUV, the Grand Wagoneer has long been a favorite here at JK Forum. And while the general thought might be that a new model would have a negative effect on the value of the older makes, Jeep collectors, like Chip Miller, beg to differ.
“In fact, if anything, it may well shoot it through the roof. Our take, me and a lot of the other classic Jeep guys, is bring it on,” says Miller, who owns a shop with his father that buys and sells classic models of the Grand Wagoneer.
