Polaris Acquires TransAmerican Auto Parts
Everyone reading this has probably purchased something from Transamerican, as they are the parent company of 4 Wheel Parts, as well as the individual brands Smittybuilt, Rubicon Express, G2 Axle & Gear, Pro Comp, LRG Rims, and Poison Spyder. These are major brands involved in the off-road performance market, which many Jeep owners will find quite familiar.
In a vertical integration move, another name that is known for their off-road products, Polaris, has now officially become the owner of the Transamerican brand. Polaris is a leader in the off-road powersports industry, and currently builds the popular RZR, Ranger, and General models of “Side-By-Side” UTVs. They also produce a number of ATVs, snowmobiles, road-going motorcycles, and the three-wheeled Slingshot sports car.
According to Greg Adler, President and CEO of Transamerican, via a press release: “Polaris is a terrific fit for TAP. Scott Wine, CEO of Polaris and his team share our enthusiast-based culture of ‘We Own it. We Sell it. We Live it.’ and our collective customers share a passion for the off-road.”
TAP will continue to operate as it does today under the leadership of Adler and the current management team.
“TAP is committed to expanding our footprint of retail, distribution and industry leading brands,” stated Adler. “Our focus will remain in the growing truck and Jeep category while adding the adjacent power sports accessory segment and other potential synergies with Polaris. The strength of Polaris will fuel TAP’s growth plans and ensure a long and successful future for all TAP employees, partners and customers.”
