Photos of the Week: A Jeep Tribute to Our Fallen Heroes

Here’s a great Jeep photo from this past Memorial Day. The pic above is one of several taken by Lodi News of the Go-Devils G.I. Jeep Club. It pays honor to our fallen heroes by capturing a World War II Jeep driving through Cherokee Memorial Cemetery in Lodi, California.

The tribute was part of a convoy of several vintage war vehicles owned by members of the Go-Devils G.I. Jeep Club who visited several cemeteries on Monday, honoring those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces and died fighting for our country.

Many of the vintage Jeeps have been restored to look exactly like those from the period. Such as a 1943 Willys with the nickname “Jungle Rat” that looks exactly like one of the Jeeps that trekked through the Philippines during the liberation of Manila. But it’s the spirit in which the Jeeps are used to honor our troops that really makes them special.
