Jeep Brings Full Lineup of Vehicles, and the Spirit of Adventure to the 2017 Chicago Auto Show!
The Chicago Auto Show is known for the many one-of-a-kind experiences it puts together for show-goers. Whether it’s a ride-and-drive — where fans can actually drive a new Jeep on the streets — or the Jeep Camp obstacle course, it’s a show for the masses! Of course, this year was no exception.
Over 1,000 vehicles are currently on display at the Chicago Auto Show, where over 40 exhibitors made up of manufacturers and outfitters hope to reach the target consumers they need. With a reputation for being “the consumer’s auto show,” the show’s staff has their work cut out to live up to expectations year after year. Having a conglomerate like Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) bring over 100 vehicles and a small circus of fan activities really helps.
In Attendance
Jeep did not choose the Windy City for any unveilings, but that didn’t stop them from bringing a full lineup. Living up to the “everything and the kitchen sink” saying, Jeep proudly displayed the new (and stunning) Jeep Compass in Limited and Trailhawk trims. The new and stylish Compass is light years ahead of its predecessor in terms of design, technology, and performance. We will soon get a chance to drive it, so stay tuned for more!
In the Wrangler department, the new Rubicon Recon took center stage, showing off its cool Rhino and Granite Crystal color combination. Its many visual queues — like red tow hooks, reinforced fenders, and hood decals highlighting its many “beefy” components — really make it stand out. Speaking of the hood decal, it looks a bit tacky and commercial in person.
One Jeep that we’d be more than happy bringing home is the CJ66 Concept, which was also in attendance in Chi-Town. The concept, originally unveiled at SEMA, features a Tuxedo Park body, a Mopar crate V8 engine, a 6-speed manual tranny, Dana 44 axles, and other go-fast and go-rough components.
