Skeleton Jeep

I’m sure this Jeep has turned more than a few heads while bumping around Louisville, Kentucky. As a matter of fact, it would probably be cause for a double-take in just about any city or town, which says a lot, considering that it looks rather ordinary from the outside. But inside, this Jeep is far from normal. Well, unless you consider seeing a skeleton driving a Wrangler down the street an everyday occurrence.

The odd contraption is the work of car collector/mechanic Andrew Johnson, who started the prank two Halloweens ago after mounting a fake left steering wheel to his right-wheel drive Jeep, which makes it appear as if the skeleton sitting shotgun is actually driving.

Johnson’s rather frail yet scary pretend chauffeur, known as Mr. Bonz, has developed quite a fan base in Kentucky. The owner says his skeleton friend has even helped him avoid a few tickets. But Johnson says there’s also a bigger underlying message he’s found while riding around with Mr. Bonz.

“He teaches you, you gotta look around and pay attention or you’re gonna miss everything,” Johnson told WDRB in the report below.

I guess that’s one way you might feel after pulling up next to this Jeep at a light. However, I can think of a few words that some others might have said after seeing a skeleton driving a Wrangler, which I wouldn’t dare repeat.
