New Wrangler Pickup Spied: Closer to Production Than Ever Before!
Wrangler pickup dimensions look closer to the real deal, with a bed that looks correct for a production model.
All eyes are on the Jeep Wrangler pickup with these new spy shots revealing a truck that looks very close to production specifications. Last year, a prototype was spied, but it looked very early in its stages of development with a wheelbase that didn’t quite match the body dimensions of the truck. However, despite the body camo in these spy shots, this newest version looks like it has moved considerably closer to being production-ready.

We had previously reported on leaked JL Wrangler images, and we suspected the pickup would follow these lines quite closely. Built in the same Toledo, Ohio plant, it’ll share a lot of what we know about the up-coming next-gen Wrangler, but there are some differences. Where the JL will start production later this year, the JT won’t be getting its steel stamped till sometime in 2019.
Drivetrain components are expected to be shared, however, with a 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder on offer along with the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6. A 4-cylinder turbo-diesel is expected to round out the engine offerings.
Have a look at these new spy photos of the JT, and let us know what you think!
