If you own a 2016 Wrangler, you’re being urged to call your local dealership to see if you need your fuel tank checked.

Apparently, some gas tanks installed on the new Jeeps might be out of factory specifications, according to a Cars.com report. If so, the dealership will replace the fuel tank, free of charge. To find out if your specific vehicle is affected, owners are being told to provide your dealership with your Wrangler’s identification number.

Owners can also call Jeep at (800) 426-5337 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at (888) 327-4236 and reference TSB No. 14-002-16.

We were unable to dig up any specific details about exactly what the issue is with the affected Wranglers that need their fuel tanks replaced. But the issue definitely shouldn’t be taken lightly if you own one of the Jeeps. No service call should be ignored, but one involving a fuel tank ought to be a pressing concern.
