Jeep’s entry-level Compass is now in its second generation, and we want to know what you think about the latest design.

For us, reflection is the best way to look at the new Compass. First Compass models were a frumpy mix of chunky styling on a smaller body, and it really took some effort to love. Mid-cycle re-design of the front end helped a little bit, making it look like its larger showroom stable-mate, the Grand Cherokee.

Compass generation two, a completely new re-design, looks far better to us. We actually might go so far as to say it is one of, if not the best-looking Jeep on sale right now. Yes, we anticipate some backlash for that opinion, especially from the Wrangler folks.

FCA’s new design direction has really taken a great turn for the better. And there’s actually a lot riding on the Compass, more than just its good looks. As we reported before, the Compass and Renegade are some of Jeep’s best sellers outside of North America. Ultimately, you need a good car in order to sell it, and the new Compass should help FCA reach its goals.
