New Jeep Cherokee Goes Up in Flames

Here’s a helluva a before and after shot, and one that certainly is going to have the folks at Jeep scrambling to figure out what happened.

In the midst of all the buzz about how the Cherokee helped Jeep rack up more than one million units in annual sales last year, a California woman is left trying to figure out why her 2015 Cherokee went up in flames a day after she purchased the new Jeep.

Margareta Knoos, who lives in La Jolla, CA, said the fire started after she returned home after a short drive in the SUV, according to a wfmynews2.com report.

“I noticed a little bit of a smoke smell, but nothing much, when I got out of the car, I didn’t see anything unusual,” Knoos told the local news source. “When I went upstairs, my brother looked out the window and he saw smoke coming from the hood of the car.”

The Cherokee quickly went up in flames, and set fire to a neighbor’s palm tree before firemen arrived on the scene to put out the blaze. No word yet on what caused the issue, but we’ll definitely be staying tuned.
