Mopar Rolls Out New Jeep Concepts in Frankfurt
Looking to ramp up its sales on a global front, Mopar has unveiled three Jeeps at the Frankfurt International Motor Show that opens this week, showcasing a host of new parts and accessories.
The trio of Jeeps making their appearance at the show, which runs until September 27, includes the Jeep Cherokee KrawLer, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Sunriser, and a custom Jeep Renegade Trailhawk.
It’s one of Mopar’s latest moves to show the world what we’ve already known here in the U.S., that nothing on the planet beats a customized Jeep.
The Jeep Cherokee KrawLer is based on the Trailhawk model and includes special suspension, BFGoodrich KM2 255/80/17 off-road tires, and wider fenders, skid plates and rock rails, according to Mopar’s official press release.
The Cherokee KrawLer, which picks up the capital “K” and “L” from the code that identifies the Cherokee nameplate, sports a special, military-inspired matte-green body color, accented with quartz grey interior and exterior details.
The KrawLer is powered by a 3.2 V6 Pentastar 272-horsepower engine, automatic nine-speed transmission, and “Jeep Active Drive Lock” four-wheel drive with low range and rear differential lock.
My favorite of the three, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Sunriser acquired its name from its exclusive matte orange paint job. It’s also packed with a gang of Mopar accessories including bumpers with a double tow hook on the front, a 4-inch suspension lift kit, and half doors.
The custom Jeep, powered by a 2.8 CRD engine combined with a five-speed automatic transmission, also features a unique LED lighting system fitted between the A-pillar and windscreen that helps enhance the look of the Rubicon Sunriser. Other Mopar accessories include an engine skid plate and beadlock wheels.
Mopar’s third vehicle being showcased at the Frankfurt show is being described as a special “Moparized” version of the Jeep Renegade Trailhawk.
Focused on enhancing the spirit of the Renegade as an off-roader, the custom Trailhawk is equipped with 17-inch aluminium alloy rims, underbody skid plates, two rear tow hooks, and exclusive black mirror caps.
Other custom features on the “Moparized” Renegade include sportier pedals and special design mats, which will probably have some appeal here in the states as well.
