Meet Geiger Cars’ 708 Horespower Grand Cherokee

I guess it’s safe to say that JK-Forum is way into getting more horsepower out of the Grand Cherokee. Three of my past four posts have been about the high-powered Jeep in some form or fashion. And now we have another one, which might cure some of the worries about whether a Hellcat version is in the works.

Not satisfied with the 470-horsepower Grand Cherokee SRT, Geiger Cars has added a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger, an intercooler, and uprated pistons that jack the SUV’s output to 708 horsepower and 572 lb.-ft. of torque, according to an Autoevolution report. That’s one horse more than the Hellcat Grand Cherokee Trackhawk that Jeep is supposedly developing.

The Geiger Jeep also received an ECU upgrade (new fuel and ignition software) and larger oil cooler, performance suspension, improved anti-roll bars, and 22-inch wheels and tires.

All that adds up to a 0 to 62 mph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 183 mph. So if you’ve grown frustrated waiting on a Hellcat Grand Cherokee this certainly qualifies as a legitimate option that’s available now for an additional $26,000 on top of the standard cost for the SUV.
