Sinkhole Nearly Swallows Jeep at Burger King
It took two tow trucks to remove the Jeep from the sinkhole.
There’s a saying: never drive your Jeep to your local Burger King before sunrise.
Okay, so, that really isn’t a saying, but if it were, it very well might have helped a fellow Jeep owner by the name of Dan Nelson in Youngstown, Ohio. Dan was making a morning trek to Burger King at around 6 a.m. when he suddenly found himself sliding into a sinkhole. According to a local NBC report, the sinkhole opened at the entrance to the restaurant.
Luckily, it doesn’t appear that much damage was done to Don’s Jeep as a result of the incident. But he’ll likely need a wheel alignment, at the bare minimum.

Either way, it’s clear that Dan seemed to take it all in stride. Based on the photo, it seems like he might have even made it to the Burger King to get a coffee while waiting for a tow truck.
“My truck needed a little washing, so I saw this little puddle and thought well I could just go through it. Bam, I’m in there,” said Nelson. “The headlights were under water and I’m looking around, the only one around was like oh man, oh man, oh man.”
So remember that next time you’re in the mood for Burger King before sunrise.
