Man Caught Rigging License Plate Shade to Avoid Tolls

By -

Sure This Remote-Controlled License Plate Shade Is Inventive, but It’s Also Illegal.

Nobody likes paying the cash to drive on those toll roads. They cost… well, money. And, if for some reason you don’t want to spend money on such things, then you should probably just take another route. But what if you don’t want to spend the money, and you also don’t want to take another route? Well, if you’re Joshua West, then you take matters into your own MacGyver-like hands.

West, who hails from Orange County, Florida, is currently facing charges for a device he used to cover up his license plate, all in an effort to avoid paying tolls. It works like this: car approaches toll road, license plate gets covered up. Car leaves toll road, the peekaboo door pops back up, like nothing ever happened. It’s absolutely genius, up until the moment it’s not.

Unfortunately for Mr. West, he pulled his daily stunt right in front of a State Trooper, who promptly caught West in the act. Not everyone can be a super spy, right? Might be best to just pay the toll like the rest of us, it certainly would have been cheaper in the long run.
