Kaiser Jeep M725

Kaiser Jeep M725 Concept is just one of several Jeeps at SEMA 2021, but it very well might be our favorite.

SEMA 2021 is here and as we previewed a couple days ago; Jeep has a significant presence. We have a presence here as well and we spotted what might be our favorite concept Jeep of the show. That would be the Kaiser Jeep M725 Concept. Based on a 1967 Kaiser Jeep M725 military ambulance this beauty is now the ultimate off-road support beast.

This week’s “Throwback Thursday” Presented by Nitto is all about this Kaiser Jeep M725 Concept. It is jammed full of Jeep Performance Parts (JPP). It gets its motivation from a Mopar 392 Crate HEMI V8 engine linked to a vintage TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission. The result is 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. That is plenty of grunt, but this is one of the rare occasions where the legendary Mopar 392 is not the star of the show. That is only because there is so much going on with this custom build. Let’s take a closer look.

Mopar 392

This former ambulance is painted a subtle shade of Desert Tan. But the paint color might be the most subtle thing on this build. It rides on 20-by-12-inch, eight-lug Black Rhino Armory wheels that are wrapped with 40-inch tires. The fenders had to be widened to allow this meaty setup to fit underneath. That right there should tell you this truck is not playing around. If you need more convincing perhaps the fact that the original frame was reinforced, and the original leaf springs being replaced with a heavy-duty link/coil suspension system will convince you.

The JPP bin has been raided for a number of items that are used on this Jeep. Underneath are modified JPP rock rails that shield the body of the Kaiser Jeep M725 between the wheel wells. JPP also is responsible for the accessory lighting. In addition, there are JPP 5-inch off-road LED lights. A JPP 7-inch off-road LED light is center mounted just above the windshield and custom fitted for use as a spotlight. But the inside of this concept is even cooler.

There is a custom-designed roof panel over the cargo area that can raise 16 inches. This will allow any occupant that is not an NBA center to stand comfortably. There is also a set of Jeep Wrangler seats that are wrapped in tan canvas. “The driver control center includes a custom-built steering wheel and column, and instrument panel equipped with modern gauges and a backup camera display screen. A specially designed data plaque, showing the unique specifications of the Kaiser Jeep M725, mounts on the dashboard.” The center console is made from a repurposed ammo box. The floor of the Jeep is coated with bedliner material to aid with grip and durability.

At SEMA there are a ton of cool vehicles from Jeep and other manufacturers. However, this Kaiser Jeep M725 Concept is certainly one of our favorites. But the show is not over yet and we will be sure to share here anything else that catches our eye.
