Right mix of mods results in a Wrangler that’s simple yet perfectly suited for both on-road and off-road use.

JK-Forum‘s Featured Jeep of the Month contest always sees a wide variety of entries, and April 2020 was no exception. But sometimes, it’s the simple builds that really grab our forum member’s attention. And that was certainly the case with Gregg59‘s 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara two-door. Which isn’t to say that this beautiful Wrangler doesn’t contain a host of mods, but the list is obviously well-curated. And the result is one super clean trail machine.

That short, but sweet list includes a host of good stuff, starting with a set of 35-inch tires wrapped around Pro Comp wheels. Both the front and rear of this Wrangler hold 4.88 gears and Eaton E-lockers. Up front, you’ll find a Smittybilt XRC Gen 2 bumper with a 9,500-pound Smittybilt winch. Out back, there’s a Smittybilt Atlas bumper and an Atlas tire carrier for a rugged look. LED lighting brings the ’08 model up to modern standards in that department. Meanwhile, a KC Pro6 Gravity eight-light light bar adds a bit of welcome retro flair.

On the inside of this Wrangler, that modernization theme continues with an SPod controller and Pioneer sound system with GPS navigation. Add it all up, and you’ve got a simple but highly effective formula. This JK Wrangler is obviously a joy to drive around, whether that be in town or out on the trails. It’s capable, great-looking, and packed with enough amenities to get the job done. And there’s nothing outrageous or over-the-top about it, which we love.

If you’ve got a cool rig you think is worthy of JK-Forum‘s Featured Jeep of the Month contest, we’d love to see it. To enter, all you have to do is head over here and create a new thread. Then, give us some info about your Jeep and some good pictures of it. Even if you’ve entered before and weren’t selected, give it another shot!
