YouTuber’s Jeep Wrangler Becomes Instantly Rare After OEM Part Swap
Ben Anton may be the only one in the world with a Mojito Green Wrangler with an authentic red dashboard from Mopar.
Ben Anton was in a predicament. His Mojito Green Rubicon was perfect apart from one glaring issue. It had the wrong color dashboard. Now, this wasn’t an error by a dealership order mixup, or any error on Jeep’s part either. In fact, it was the wrong color, because Jeep only offered the gray dashboard with that exterior color. So how does one go about fixing this? By ordering the factory parts on their own, of course!
When Jeep made the Rubicon, Mojito green, Hellayella yellow, and Punk’n orange were left with the gray dashboard. However, Anton points out “the Rubicon comes with factory red pinstripe decals, red trail rated badges, and Jeep badges on the side. Red tow hooks on the front and rear and red factory shocks.” He continues, “not only that, but inside the Jeep, black seats with red stitching, red shift knob, and red 4×4 controls.” Clearly, getting a matching dashboard of the same accent color wouldn’t look too odd, even on a bright green exterior color.
After trying to trade for someone’s factory dash, Anton settled for simply buying a brand new red one straight from Jeep. This means that as it sits, his Mojito Rubicon is probably the only one on the road with a factory red dash. Sure, it didn’t come off the production line like that, but it’s still all OEM parts, and that’s especially unique.
Anton’s video shows the whole process to change out the dashboard, if that’s your interest, but we also like Anton’s main message in the video. He implies that you shouldn’t be worried about the opinions of others, whether you modify your Jeep for looks or for functionality. “Lesson for today, don’t worry about what other people think. Do what makes you happy and make your jeep your own. Make it personalized. That’s exactly what the wrangler is all about.”
