Jeep Trackhawk Gets a Massive Horsepower Upgrade

Jeep Trackhawk

If you ever decide that your Trackhawk’s 707 horsepower isn’t enough, try 1,000 instead.

When the 707-HP supercharged SRT Hellcat Hemi V8 made its debut in the 2015 Chargers and Challengers, it blew everyone away. That same engine then made into the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, and a wickedly fast mid-sized SUV was born.

Lo, never underestimate the quest for more power. The folks over at Hennessey Perfromance (HP) created their own insanely powerful (yes, even MORE than Mopar’s version) Hellcat supercharged 6.2-liter V8 Hemi engine upgrade (HPE1000) that produces even more horsepower.

Power

Ponies are one thing this mid-sized Grand Cherokee variant already has plenty of on its own. With the HPE1000 upgrade, the Trackhawk produces a whopping 1,012 HP at 6,500 rpm, according to Hennessey Performance. It also adds 969 lbs-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm, compared to the stock engine’s 645.

Performance

The Trackhawk is already blisteringly quick with a 3.5-second 0-60 mph rating. Hennessey Performance also claims the HPE1000 upgrade allows the Trackhawk go from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, and complete a quarter-mile drag in 10.5 seconds (Car & Driver’s best time with the stock engine was 12).

Mind you, this vehicle still uses an eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel-drive, as the this is only a core engine upgrade. Despite this, the above numbers sound promising to say the least.

Extras & Features of the HPE1000 Upgrade

Nevermind the all the crazy G-force that comes from the sheer lunacy of such acceleration. Here’s all the good stuff you’re also getting:

• 4.5-liter supercharger system with a 14-psi boost
• Stainless steel long tube headers
• High-flow supercharger bypass valve
• Upgraded high-flow fuel injectors
• Boost-a-pump factory fuel pump upgrade
• HPE engine management upgrade & chassis dyno calibration
• High-flow air induction system
• Chassis dyno testing
• Road testing (up to 200 miles)
• Hennessey exterior badge (rear)
• HPE1000 Powered by Hennessey badges (side & rear)
• Hennessey HPE1000 serial numbered plaque signed by John Hennessey (interior)
• Hennessey HPE1000 serial numbered plaque signed by the HPE technician who builds you car (engine bay)
• Powered by Hennessey premium floor mats
