Could a Jeep Slap Replace the Jeep Wave?
We’ve talked a lot here at JK Forum about the slow but seemingly steady decline of people doing the Jeep Wave. But I’m starting to wonder: could it be that the trend has simply run its course?
Now, I’m certainly not ready to say that the Wave is dead, considering most here would consider that sacrilegious. However, I think most here would have to agree that the Jeep Wave certainly isn’t as popular as it has been in the past.
After all, these days, what’s popular or not is determined a lot by how many retweets and Facebook likes it gets.
It all makes me wonder if this new idea we’ve stumbled on called the “Jeep Slap” will ever gain any traction. Haven’t heard of it? Well here, let me explain how it works, as detailed by The Valdosta Daily Times, which apparently came up with the idea.
If you happen to see a fellow Jeep rider, and the situation allows for it, pull up next to them and give them a gentle mutual slap while singing “Jeep Slap, it’s a Jeep Slap…” to the tune of the chorus from the B-52’s “Love Shack.” However, be advised: it’s probably best played among friends or fellow Jeep owners in the same club, just to ensure that all playing are aware of what’s going on.
We’d love to get your thoughts on whether you think the Jeep Slap could catch on or not.
