Jeep Renegade Tackles White Water Rafting

Somehow, I get the idea that Jeep would never, ever recommend that anyone try this maneuver on their own. Then again, I guess it’s situations exactly like these where the idea of “be sure to read the small print” becomes pretty important.

Well, only if you’re truly concerned about how your Jeep rides and handles later. Because, I can’t imagine that there is anywhere in a manual for the Renegade where you’ll find Jeep suggesting that it’s okay for you to venture out on an Olympic white water rafting course in Wales, like the one in the video below.

In this case, it was all part of a Jeep promotion to highlight how off-road capable the Renegade really is, and to stake a claim as the “World’s First” such stunt. To pull it off, Jeep did have to do a few modifications to the Renegade though, which included adding drain holes in the footwells and raising the airbag’s ECU by half an inch.

Impressive, right?

That said, we’d still recommend that Renegade owners leave these kind of maneuvers to the experts.
