Jeep Proves Again, Never Underestimate the Brand
Remember all those naysayers when the Jeep Cherokee was first introduced? Everything from, “I hate the front,” to, “I bet it doesn’t even perform like a Jeep.” Well, they’re all eating their words or choking on embarrassment for ever doubting the brand.
Building on what is now clearly a bona-fide hit, the SUV led Jeep sales again outselling the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee with a total of 14,639 units sold for the month of September, according to an official Chrysler Group LLC release. The Wrangler and Grand Cherokee sold 13,955 and 12,854, respectively.
So far, Jeep has hit a sales record every single month in 2014, and I’m betting the brand will close out October, November and December breaking monthly records as well.
Even the outgoing Compass and Patriot models saw a sales spike compared with the same period last year.
The lesson here is don’t ever underestimate anything that bears the Jeep name regardless of what critics say.
