Those looking to score a deal on a new Gladiator might be having a hard time, but this new offer certainly helps.

As much as we love the Jeep Gladiator, we must admit that there’s just one big problem with it. As in, it ain’t exactly cheap. Finding one of these pickups for less than $50k requires a bit of searching, in fact, as well as some restraint when ticking options boxes. Thus, we’re always on the hunt for any discount we can find. And thanks to some digging by our family over at CarsDirect, we now know of another way to save some coin on a new Gladiator.

If you’re a current Jeep owner (and we know you are), the brand is offering a loyalty discount in the form of a $1,000 coupon. But this deal works a bit differently than most. Jeep is sending eligible customers these coupons via snail mail or electronically, and the first batch is already on the way. But if you haven’t gotten one yet, don’t fret. Cars Direct reports that eligible customers may not receive the deal immediately. Thankfully, the discount is valid until January 2, so you’ve got plenty of time to score some cash off.

There are other caveats as well, of course. The offer excludes the much-beloved Rubicon, which is a major bummer. But for those seeking a Sport, Sport S, or Overland, you’re in luck. And these sorts of discounts are extra important given how hard it is to find a stripped base model. Cars Direct‘s research shows that the vast majority of models sitting on dealer lots sport sticker prices of well over $40,000. Finding one even close to the Gladiator’s base price of $35,040 is virtually impossible.

Which really comes as no surprise, of course. Gladiator buyers tend to opt for more extra equipment than even Wrangler buyers. And tacking on options is an easy path to larger profits for both dealers and FCA. Thus, even lessees are feeling the pinch. After some early dirt cheap lease deals for the Gladiator, it’s currently more expensive than temporary ownership of a Wrangler.

Thus, consider yourself lucky if you land one of these coupons. Snagging a deal on a Gladiator isn’t exactly easy right now, especially with the model’s popularity remaining high. And that doesn’t figure to change any time soon.
