Jeep Collab Introduces Sick-looking Camping System for Gladiator
Originally teased at Overland Expo West, new system swaps out Gladiator’s bed with a tray and modular camper top.
Ever since the Gladiator brought back the truck to Jeep, everyone’s been wanting to take the new Trail Rated beast out to the rocks, trails, and forests of America’s great outdoors. And there have been more than a few vendors in the aftermarket looking at what they could do with the new Jeep Truck.
For Fiftyten and Goose Gear, the solution was simple enough: replace the bed with a tray capable of supporting modular components, like a camper top. Motor1 reports the two companies debuted their new system for all midsize trucks at Overland Expo East, held in Arrington, Virginia from October 11 through 13.
Previously teased at Overland Expo West back in May, according to Motor1, the modular camping system rolled out upon the bones of the Gladiator for all the world to see. The whole affair begins with the tray, which New Atlas says “provides a flat bed for hauling sports gear and other cargo, complete with aircraft-style tie-down tracks for securing everything in place.”
New Atlas adds the tray has underbed storage, plus spaces for a water tank or air compressor to go into. From there, the box brings more functionality to the table, with room for camping supplies and whatever else the owner could want; Goose Gear will outfit the box and camper to each customer’s needs via its S-Series interior system, according to Fiftyten.
To top it off, the rooftop tent adds an 8.9 x 4.4-foot space above it all, with a moveable floor to allow more headroom for getting dressed in private. The tent can be raised in a few seconds by unlatching the security hook, then pushing the roof up. It can also come down as quickly by simply pulling the roof down, with all of the tent fabric safely tucked away without outside assistance.
If you’d like to turn your Gladiator into the overlanding rig you’ve dreamed about, Fiftyten (via Goose Gear) will sell you the complete package for around $33,000. New Atlas notes this version is different from the one sold in Europe, where each piece of the puzzle can be purchased individually. Of course, this does simplify everything for those wanting to get out there as quickly as possible.
