Jeep Cherokee XJ Rock Crawls an Apartment Building
As capable as Jeep Cherokee XJs are, I am always amazed to see what some owners will do with them. For example, an XJ owner in Austin, Texas was going about a normal day of moving a TV, a seemingly mundane task for most. In a state of confusion, perhaps from an overwhelming need to prepare for a Black Friday sale, the owner positioned the XJ in an optimal manner to offload said television. While in reverse, however, the driver squeezed the throttle and high centered the Jeep on its rear axle, breaking some stairs in the process, and leaving poor “Scooby” stranded.
According to the Austin Fire Department:
“This is what happens when you’re trying to get close enough to your apartment to unload a TV and you accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake! Luckily, no one was hurt but Firefighters from Rescue 28 assisted ‘Scooby’ down from his third floor apartment today after the stairs were damaged.”
As you can see in the photo below, though he bares a look of concern and confusion, “Scooby” seems quite safe and will hopefully let his ears flop in the wind outside the Jeep’s windows soon.
As you’d expect, the XJ appears fine as well, save for a small amount of body damage. Some broken spirits and an embarrassing call to the fire department, but soon enough this Jeep can still see some proper off-road time.
