Immaculate Low-mileage ’89 Jeep Wagoneer Sells For $110K at Auction!

Jeep Wagoneer

It took just one Wagoneer to take the vehicle’s ordinary value and turn it on its ear. This one is the first we know of in the six-figure range.

We have known the Jeep Wagoneer has been desirable for quite some time. What we didn’t know what that people were willing to spend so much to have one. That mindset changed once Lot #1000.1 crossed the block at Barrett Jackson’s Scottsdale auction this past week. When the hammer came down, this Jeep sold for an astonishing $110,000 dollars. From our most recent memory, it maybe could be the highest price Jeep Wagoneer ever sold.

The vehicle in question is interesting. Stunning white paint is wrapped in wood trim on this Jeep. Inside, the color burgundy splashes on everything that is soft, while wood trim finishes off the rest. With under 8,000 miles, this Wagoneer is truly a time capsule. Power comes from a 318ci V8 and 3-speed column-shift automatic. This Jeep has had only one owner, who bought it with an optional roof rack and tow package.

Despite it being the ultimate road trip vehicle, the low mileage is not the only indicator that this Jeep was hardly ever used. Even the trailer wiring remains in its original bag. Also unused is the original tool kit. The interior remains as-new and needed no attention, although mechanically, this Wagoneer received all new fluids. Tires are also new, and everything works as it should. Essentially, someone bought a brand new 1989 Wagoneer.

A quick search of values on classic car sites like Hemmings show the highest price Wagoneer at $50,000 or less. Granted those rides have far more mileage. We aren’t sure what exactly has caused this sharp rise in prices. It could be a simple anomaly. It also could be that Jeep has announced a full-sized upcoming Wagoneer.

The other interesting part about this car is its age. Typically values for cars are higher for vehicles much older than this, so seeing a 1989 model year vehicle soar to these heights is very interesting. Granted, it is 31 years old. Could other Jeeps of this era also receive such monetary affection? Looks like someone needs to auction a Jeep Comanche to find out.
