Jeep Owners Come Together to Raise Awarneess for Heroin Addiction
Behind every good American cause, never be surprised if there’s a Jeep somewhere helping to drive the effort.
In fact, where there’s one, you’ll likely find a few more nearby.
Take, for example, the 618 Jeeps Club who recently came together in Alton, Illinois to raise awareness about heroin addiction.
The event included dozens of Jeep owners riding in memory of Dillon Sugg, who died at age 21 of a heroin overdose in 2015. As highlighted in a report by The Telegraph, Dillon’s parents are members of 618 Jeeps.
Dana Eisemann, a spokesman for the club (named after the local area code) said the ride for Dillon speaks to a huge concern in the area, which has affected a lot of families.
“In St. Clair County alone, heroin is a huge epidemic right now in our area,” said Eisemann. “We’ve taken pictures that we are taping up in our Jeeps, we have Dillon, we have Mike Kilgore who died in 2012, my husband has a family friend who lost their son in January to a heroin overdose.”
618 Jeeps Club raised more than $400 for their efforts. It’s nice to see Jeep owners coming together again for a great cause.
