Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat Is a Done Deal
Jeep fans, commence rejoicing!
Word is the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk/Hellcat is well on its way to taking a spot in the Jeep line-up. And even better, we’ve got a few eyebrow-raising specs to share about the high-powered SUV, as highlighted in a Motor Authority report.
The development of the 707-horsepower Jeep is being called Project K, and apparently test mules using 2016 Grand Cherokee bodies are already on the road, according to sources with insight on the project.
While prohibited from using Dodge’s Hellcat badge, the 707-horsepower Grand Cherokee will feature the same supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 as the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats, which will be matted to an A ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.
All-wheel-drive will be standard and the Jeep is expected to have a top speed of 200 mph with a 0 – 60 mph time under three-seconds.
Yup, that’s no typo. Under three-seconds, which could potentially make the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk one of the fasted SUVs on the planet.
Of course, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles isn’t confirming the report, but the fact that they aren’t denying it may speak volumes.
