Upcoming package will offer Gladiator buyers a substantial amount of savings in multiple trim levels.

America’s most off-road oriented pickup debuted with heaps of critical praise last year. The go anywhere, do anything pickup has basically entered its second year on the market. Fortunately, the sky high prices that surrounded its launch appear to be a thing of the past. If you’re in the market for one, now might be a good time to pick one up. Then again, interested parties might want to wait for an upcoming configuration change to the Gladiator lineup.

At some point in the near future, Jeep will introduce a new “Truck of the Year” package for multiple trim levels. Per Mopar Insiders, these updates allow shoppers to save a surprising amount of cash when they order a Gladiator. It seems Jeep wants to pay it forward after winning “North American Truck of the Year” back in 2019. We’re certainly not complaining!

Extra Money in Your Pocket

Overall, it seems like Jeep observed what options are being bundled together within certain trims and paired some things together in an effort to make things a bit simpler for everyone involved. The Gladiator Sport S “Truck of the Year” adds a black hard top, Technology Group with 7 inch UConnect Touchscreen Radio, Convenience Group, and the Trailer Tow Package. As noted by Mopar Insiders, those options would retail for $3,135 if ordered separately, but Jeep offers the package for $1,495. That’s a substantial amount of savings!

Similarly, stepping up to the Overland trim allows buyers to also save some dough. That version of the package contains a few differences. Like the one featured in the Gladiator Sport S, the Overland “Truck of the Year” package includes a black hard top. However, the high tier means that shoppers will get the 8.4 inch UConnect system with Premium Audio instead. Jeep included leather seats as well. And the Trailer Tow package also gets bundled in with the other stuff too, just like in the less expensive trim. In terms of pricing, the aforementioned equipment costs $4,735 if ordered separately. With the addition of the new package, Jeep is asking $2,495. That amounts to $2,240 in savings. Fortunately, those two packages don’t restrict buyers from ordering a body colored hard top or the max tow package either.

Good Deals

The addition of the “Truck of the Year” package follows a number of increasing options available to Jeep shoppers. Most significant was the inclusion of the 2020 Gladiator Mojave. That model formally introduced the first-ever Desert Rated model in Jeep history. Similarly, the Wrangler and Gladiator both received the High Altitude trims as well. That trim installs some very excellent luxury bits on their respective vehicles. Body colored trim becomes the norm except for the wheels and some other cosmetic items, which get a slick blacked-out treatment. Interestingly enough, High Altitude models also get the full LED treatment from front to back. Those models are due out in the second quarter of 2020, which is coming up pretty soon.

Any way you slice it, the Gladiator is a pretty radical truck. We mean that in a good way. The truck that can basically become a convertible is better than ever. With the addition of the “Truck of the Year” package, buyers now have an even greater (and less expensive) reasons to pick one up.
