2020 Jeep Gladiator Spider-Gwen CTEK Builder Challenge

Amid the competitors at CTEK’s virtual SEMA extravaganza, Projekt Cars comes through with a ‘Spider-Gwen’-themed Gladiator!

Right about now, we would be getting our laundry done and our bags packed for a flight into Las Vegas. We would be prepared to check out all the hottest rides at the hottest automotive trade show in the world, SEMA. And you know there would be tons of cool-ass Jeeps to peep, from wild Wranglers to glorious Gladiators.

Alas, it’s not to be in the Year of Our Corona 2020. The pandemic slammed Nevada so hard, SEMA decided to do everything virtually this time. The rides and new products will still be there, just through a Zoom meeting or three. This includes the “Builder Challenge powered by CTEK,” which will have a Gladiator in the arena competing for the ultimate prize.

“This year has been like no other, but just because we’re not in Las Vegas for SEMA doesn’t mean our passion for cars and great builds has diminished,” said CTEK North America Executive Vice President, Bobbie DuMelle, in a recent press statement. “We know builders have spent countless hours this year working on their builds, and we wanted to celebrate that hard work.”

One of the builders in question is Carlos Molina and Projekt Cars of El Paso, Texas. Molina is one of a few to bring multiple builds to CTEK’s virtual extravaganza. Among them is a 2020 Gladiator done up in pink with Spider-Gwen artwork. Molina’s Jeep won’t be alone in the overall Mopar family, however.

TJ Russell and Russell Built Fabrication down in Sun Valley, California is bringing a ’33 Plymouth previously driven by Hollywood legend Denzel Washington. Meanwhile, Tony Arme and American Legends in Phoenix will have “a high-performance” ’69 Dodge Charger “with a lot of upgrades” waiting to claim a trophy.

“We’ve been amazed by these one-of-a-kind builds,” said DuMelle. “They’re all unique, but the one thing they have in common is they all rely on CTEK battery chargers.”

They’ll also be relying on your votes. The Gladiator, ’33 Plymouth, Charger, and the rest of the builds will debut throughout the week on CTEK’s site. Voting opens up Monday, Nov. 2 at smartcharger.com/pages/ctek-sema-360, concluding Friday, Nov. 6. Let’s get the Jeep and the Mopar family to the top of the summit!
