Geo-Cab Transforms Jeep Gladiator Into a Legit Camper
Geo-Cab’s new carbon fiber Badger LT camper makes the Jeep Gladiator a legit RV with loads of amenities for four people.
Camping, overlanding, and just basic RV’ing are all the rage these days as more and more people try and simply get outdoors and away from the house. However, Jeep fans were doing this before it was cool, of course, helping to turn overlanding into a thing years ago. But those camping out in a Jeep are often doing so in some sort of tent – not a legit, large camper, for obvious reasons. However, now a company called Geo-Cab is making and selling one seriously cool carbon fiber camper for the Jeep Gladiator.
To be fair, the California-based company just rolled out an entire line of campers for all sorts of vehicles, but its Jeep Gladiator offering is the one that caught our eye. Geo-Cab’s Badget LT camper was designed to fit the Gladiator, which the company calls the “ideal platform for the integration of the Geo-Cab,” and for good reason.
With the rooftop removed, owners can even pass through between the Gladiator and the camper, making this a true RV of sorts, and that’s something that not many vehicles can do without major modifications. But while the camper will work on any Gladiator trim, Geo-Cab does recommend the wider track of the Mojave and Rubicon, as well as the additional torque provided by the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel powerplant.
Either way, the Badger LT is a pretty amazing piece of kit inside. It features ample seating, a bed, large panoramic windows, a skylight, a bathroom, and a kitchen – which is an awful lot to squeeze on the Gladiator’s bed. And if you don’t like the layout, Geo-Cab also allows customers to choose their own, making this a fully customizable piece of kit.
Overall, the LT can sleep up to four people and measures 183 inches long, 75-79 inches wide, 79 inches high, and weighs 1,157 pounds. That last number is rather low, but possible thanks to its carbon fiber construction and fiberglass (or optional carbon fiber) furniture.
The only real downside here is price. As one might imagine, Geo-Cab’s campers aren’t cheap, and the Badger LT starts out at roughly $162,000. But given how expensive overlanders and RVs are these days, that isn’t bad considering what you’re getting here, and that’s a true RV experience in the bed of a Gladiator.
